Work has been completed on Kohn Pedersen Fox’s (KPF’s) design for the headquarters of Ziraat Bank in Istanbul’s International Financial Centre.
The project consists of two towers, 46 and 40-storeys tal and linked by an eight-storey podium. As well as the bank’s offices, there will be an auditorium and a ground-floor shopping mall.
The podium’s facade references the ornate screens that are a feature of Islamic architecture, and the towers expand towards their tops, representing the banks financial growth.
Mustafa Chehabeddine, KPF’s design principal, said: “Ziraat Bank headquarters is a modern building with deep roots in Istanbul’s physical and cultural context.”
Peyami Ömer, Ziraat REIT’s general manager, said: “Ziraat Towers, which is a key part of the Istanbul Finance Centre Project, hold great significance for our bank.
“These towers reflect Ziraat Bank’s 161-year deep-rooted history, as well as representing a critical step in carrying our bank into the future.”
Ziraat is a state-owned bank specialising in personal and commercial loans.
Istanbul’s International Finance Centre was opened in 2023 on the Anatolian side of the city. It is intended to bring together financial institutions and regulators, and presently employs about 100,000 people.
The development has received LEED Platinum accreditation.
