Swedish vehicle producer Volvo Group and German concrete pumping manufacturer Putzmeister have showcased one of the world’s biggest battery-electric concrete boom pump trucks at the bauma 2025 trade show in Munich, Germany.
The boom pump has a reach of 42m. On one charge, the truck can drive 50km and then pump 50 cu m of concrete.
Longer distances and bigger quantities of concrete can be achieved by using the Combined Charging System, which lets operators charge the truck while pumping concrete.

The product was made following a request from Swedish construction company Swerock.
“After presenting electric concrete mixers and heavy applications for mining, we are proud to show yet another world-class innovation for the construction segment here at bauma,” said Christoph Fitz, Volvo Trucks’ head of sales in Germany.
“We believe in cooperation to move forward, and one example of this can be seen here in Germany together with Putzmeister.”
Volvo began production of electric trucks in 2019, with a current 50% market share of Europe’s battery-electric trucks.
