
The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), a US trade body, has published its list of America’s best contractors in various fields. The results are judged by the total number of hours worked, safety and quality, inclusion and project excellence.
The leading contractor by work hours is Turner Industries, followed by BL Harbert International and MMR Constructors.
The top-performing contractors by market sector are as follows:
- Airport: Hensel Phelps
- Education: Balfour Beatty US
- Entertainment: Bergelectric
- Government: BL Harbert International
- Health Care: Robins & Mortin
- High Tech/Data Centres: Faith Technologies
- Hospitality: BL Harbert International
- Industrial: Turner Industries
- Infrastructure: Allan Myers
- Military: M.C. Dean
- Museums/Monuments/Parks: Marek
- Office: Bergelectric
- Religious: Haskell
- Renewables: Apache Industrial
- Residential: Power Design
- Retail: Sevan Multi-Site Solutions
- Sports Complex: Brasfield & Gorrie
Companies must meet ABC’s guidelines for safety, management, diversity, education and community relations.
The ABC also listed the top contractors by their work type. These were measured on the criteria of financial growth, workers’ pay, benefits and retirement plans, health and safety, workforce development and education, diversity, leadership and employee opportunities.

- Trade Contractor: MMR Constructors
- Electrical Contractor: MMR Constructors
- Plumbing/HVAC Contractor: TDIndustries Inc.
- Specialty Contractor: Apache Industrial
