UGL wins $125m transmission upgrade in Western Australia

Cimic subsidiary UGL has won a five-year, A$125m contract to upgrade Western Power’s electricity distribution and transmission network in the southwestern part of Western Australia.

It will provide overhead maintenance in a region stretching from Kalbarri in the north to Kalgoorlie in the east and Albany in the south.

Western Power’s networks serve around 80% of Western Australia’s 2.8 million inhabitants.

In the first year, UGL will carry out pole replacements, reconductoring, cross arm and cross beam replacements, defect repairs, and line removal.

The UGL team will be based at Canning Vale.
