A joint venture between Los Angeles contractor Tutor Perini and Massachusetts-based Middlesex Corporation has been selected as the lowest bidder for a rail project New England.
South Coast Rail is intended to restore passenger rail service between Boston and the towns of Taunton, Berkley, Fall River, Freetown, and New Bedford, on the south coast of Massachusetts.
The scope of this part of project includes 40km of tracks, four stations, and two pedestrian bridges, and will be worth an estimated $403m.
Work on the development is due to be completed in autumn 2023.
