Turner to build $2bn Ohio data centre campus

The groundbreaking ceremony in Ohio (Turner Construction)
Turner Construction has broken ground on a $2bn data centre campus in New Albany, central Ohio. The project, which is for IT services company Vantage, will have a floor area of 1.5 million sq ft and will consume 192MW of electricity.

The centre, Vantage’s first in the Midwest, will provide cloud technologies and AI to the Ohio region. Vantage says it will aim to achieve LEED silver accreditation, and will be part of the company’s goal of achieving net zero operational carbon emissions by 2030.

Matt Kunz, a vice president of Turner, said: “More than $2bn will be invested in the campus over the next few years as it meets increased demand for scalable and sustainable digital infrastructure in the region.”

The first building on the campus is due to be completed in 2025.
