Austrian construction group Strabag has been awarded a $92m contract to build a 24km section of S6 expressway in Poland.
The design-and-build contract is for the Goleniów-Koszalin section of the S6 in northwestern Poland.
The contract includes construction of a dual-carriageway, expressway junctions, rest areas and numerous civil engineering structures such as overpasses, bridges and wildlife crossings.
Thomas Birtel, Strabag’s chief executive, said: “The S6 will form the main traffic artery between eastern and western Poland. It runs parallel to the coast, where Strabag is already realising a number of projects.”
Construction will start this month and is due to be completed in June 2019.
