An Italian and French team has been chosen for the Management Center of the Sicily Region, a 120,000 sq m administrative centre in Palermo.
Leclercq Associes, Tekne, Nicolas Laisne and Clement Blanchet won the €270m project with a design inspired by the traditional Mediterranean urban square.
The plan is to build three squares that combine offices with a range of amenities, including shops, eateries, a wellness centre, a sports facility, a church and a nursery.
There will also be a hanging garden, to be called il nuovo orizzonte (the new horizon), that will offer views of the sea and the Sicilian mountains.
