Ground has been broken on a stadium for the Los Angles Rams, the largest in the NFL with a seating capacity of a 70,000.
Located over 298 acres to the east of Los Angeles International Airport, the LA Stadium will be the home of the Rams, who have spent 21 years playing in St Louis, Missouri.
The 3 million square foot, multipurpose venue can be extended to house 100,000 fans and is due to host the 55th Super Bowl in 2021.
US firms Aecom and Turner Construction were chosen to oversee construction of the stadium in July this year. HKS is the architect.
A perforated metal "skin" wraps the venue to create an open-air canopy.
The curving roof covers the stadium, as well as outdoor "rooms" and plazas.
Mark Williams, principal at HKS, said: "The regional climate and cultural DNA of southern California and Los Angeles are the foundation of our design.
"We have crafted a design that is responsive to its site, the community and the global stage of sports and entertainment."
The stadium is due to open in 2019.
