Vinci Concessions was selected in December by the Portuguese government to acquire ANA, the concession holder for the country’s 10 airports.
The ANA airports handled 30 million passengers in 2012, mostly international. Passenger numbers have increased at an annual average of over 4% over the past 10 years.
ANA’s activities include management of the airport facilities, commercial activities, ground handling services, safety and security and passenger assistance services.
The deal increases the number of airports managed by Vinci Airports, a Vinci Concessions subsidiary, to 23, in Portugal, France and Cambodia.
The transfer contract was scheduled to be signed in January 2013, and the transaction will be submitted for the approval of the appropriate anti-trust authorities.
