Vinci has signed a $550m contract with France’s transport ministry to design, build and operate a 24km bypass to the west of Strasbourg.
The construction phase of the project is expected to last for 56 months and will be carried out by a joint venture consisting of Vinci subsidiaries Dodin Campenon Bernard and Eurovia, as well as earthwork specialist Construction Terrassement. Ingérop, CBDI and IUR will provide project engineering services.
The project is expected to generate around 1,000 direct and indirect jobs during the construction phase.
The scheme will include a “multimodal hub” to allow motorists and commuters to change the kind of transport they are using. Â
Once construction is complete, toll collection and maintenance will be carried out by a Vinci Autoroutes.
