Indian clients have awarded Larsen & Toubro (L&T) contracts in September worth an estimated $259m.Â
The Mumbai-based company is to build two residential towers measuring 208m and 232m in its home city. These are worth a total of $202m. L&T’s scope includes civil, structural, finishing and MEP works.Â
The company’s power transmission and distribution business has won orders worth $57m in the south of the country, where the Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation has chosen it for the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of a 400kV transmission line in Chennai, the region’s biggest industrial and commercial centre.Â
L&T will establish another 400kV double-circuit transmission line in the bordering states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.Â
The company has also received a contract from India’s Power Grid Corporation to build a 400/220kV substation at Pandiabil in Odisha, an Indian state on the east coast.Â
The contract is for the supply, installation and construction of civil buildings, as well as the testing and commissioning of substation equipment.
