The Anschutz Entertainment Group has selected Hochtief as general contractor for the construction of the Mercedes Platz in Germany.
The project, located in front of the 17,000-capacity Mercedes-Benz arena in east Berlin, aims to become "the vibrant heart of this dynamically growing urban quarter".
Anschutz Entertainment, a subsidiary of American investment company the Anschutz Corporation, will complete development by the autumn of 2018 for about $230m.
It will hand over the site to Hochtief, Germany’s largest construction company, this month and the official ground-breaking will take place on 6 June.
Thilo Warlich, branch manager of Hochtief Building Berlin, said: "We have already prepared thoroughly for the project in an effective pre-construction phase, and implemented technical optimisations.
"We look forward to this exciting construction challenge and an excellent working relationship with Anschutz."
Michael Kötter, Anschutz Entertainment’s vice president of real estate, said: "Our agreement ensures that the project will be completed on time and within budget."

Earlier this year Hochtief issued a statement admitting insider trading during the takeover of Australian construction group Leighton.
