Spanish developer Neinor Homes will invest €35m building four apartment blocks in the town of Mungia, a former industrial area in Spain’s Basque Country.
The company hopes its 137 apartments for sale will attract buyers on the strength of the town’s proximity to the coast and the city of Bilbao.
Construction starts in April. The first phase of 61 apartments is expected to take 22 months and the second phase of 76 homes is expected to take 24 months.
The development will have swimming pools and gardens.
“This project highlights the importance of redeveloping outdated land, transforming former disused industrial areas into new residential spaces,” said the company’s northern region director Iñigo Ibarra.
