Mott MacDonald will provide multi-disciplinary engineering services for the during the $7m expansion of a pesticide and herbicide plant in Keshwana, India.
For client Dhanuka Agritech, the UK-based consultancy will provide architecture, civil and structural, process and building engineering services.
Demand for pesticides is growing
The firm will also help with procurement, inspection and will provide construction supervision.
Mott MacDonald says the project is a response to growing demand for formulated pesticides.
"Over the past decade, tolerant crop varieties have enabled strong growth in herbicide demand and contributed to significant increases in agricultural productivity," Vinod Gupta, Mott MacDonald’s divisional director, said. "Consequently, the Indian agrochemicals industry has developed substantially."
