A 20-year-old man has died after falling from the 19th floor of a tower reported to be under construction in Atlanta, Georgia.
Atlanta police said they responded to a report of an unresponsive male at 327 Mitchell Street SW at around 10.45am on Thursday, 20 March.
“Upon arrival, officers located a 20-year-old male who appeared to have fallen from the 19th floor of the property,” their statement said.
“The male was not alert, conscious, or breathing, and was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.”
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates no signs of foul play.
Local TV station Fox 5 reported that a new residential development called “The Mitchell”, part of the Centennial Yards project, is currently under construction at the address.
On its website describing the Centennial Yards scheme, developer CIM said it broke ground on two 19-storey towers in November 2022.
One is a 304-unit apartment building and the other is the 292-key Hotel Phoenix, both scheduled for completion in 2025.
CIM has been contacted for comment.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
