UK-headquartered international construction company Mace has appointed Robert Fields to the post of regional director for Australia and New Zealand.

Previously an executive general manager for Australian infrastructure consultant RPS, Fields had been seconded to be commercial director for the Sydney Metro Programme, Australia’s largest public transport infrastructure project, in which role he was responsible for advising the programme executive.
Mace wants to expand in Australia and New Zealand, building on work already won in healthcare, education and transportation projects in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
Fields succeeds Jeremy Oakes, who spent nearly 13 years with Mace and will stay with the company in the capacity of a consultant.
With a background in civil engineering, business and commercial law, Fields has two decades of international experience in major infrastructure programme advisory and management consulting services.
Prior to RPS, Fields held various senior appointments as a leader within HKA’s Advisory business.

Fields’ appointment takes effect on 18 January 2021.
