UK-headquartered Mace has appointed industry heavyweight, Gary Sweeney, to lead its European team working in the healthcare, life sciences and technology sectors.
He joins Mace after a spell as interim director of Turner & Townsend’s advanced manufacturing, industrial and logistics division in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Before that he was at ISG, where he was part of the leadership team on the firm’s “Hyperscale” business unit doing major programmes in automotive, aerospace, datacentre, pharmaceutical, battery and logistics.
He has 30 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering.
The appointment amalgamates a number of sectors under a single leadership structure.
This year Mace was appointed delivery partner for the New Hospital Programme in the UK.
Mace said it would be a springboard for growth across Europe as Sweeney develops the company’s life sciences offering in Germany and Switzerland.
“Mace’s commitment to engaging clients early and working in partnership to help them shape their visions was a big reason behind my move, Sweeney said.
