Lendlease appoints head of data centres for Asia

Lendlease today announced the appointment of Sunita Bottse as head of data centres, reporting to Andrew Gauci, head of telecoms and data infrastructure, Asia.

Based in Singapore, Sunita will lead Lendlease Data Centre Partners, the company’s $1bn joint venture with a large institutional investor to invest in data centres in the Asia-Pacific.

The JV is currently developing a 120 MW hyper-scale data centre in Greater Tokyo, with construction due to commence in June 2022. Bottse will be in charge of developing data centres in Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore.

She has more than a decade of experience building and managing Tier IV data centres in the region, Tier IV being the highest rating for fault tolerance and redundancy.

Prior to joining Lendlease, she was chief executive of Supernap in Thailand, the company behind the first carrier-neutral hyperscale data centre in the country. Before that she was vice president of Ctex data centre.

Business accolades include listings in Mission Critical Magazine’s Top 25 Women in Technology 2022;  Channel Asia’s Winner Women in ICT Award 2021; Infrastructure Masons IM100 Award 2020; and Data Economy’s APAC 50 – The top 50 data centres and cloud influential leaders from across Asia Pacific in 2020 and 2018.

Andrew Gauci said Bottse’s “deep expertise and industry experience will be an asset to Lendlease as we drive greater growth in acquisition, development, construction and investment in data centres”, which he called a “key growth sectors in Asia”.
