Australian contractor Leighton Asia has been chosen to construct six high-rise residential towers in Mumbai for local developer Godrej Properties.
In all, the 44-storey towers will provide almost 500,000 sq m of floor area on a 7.2ha site.
The company expects the project in Kandivali East to generate more than US$100m in revenue.
It hopes to achieve an LEED Silver rating certification for its environmental performance.
Leighton Asia is a subsidiary of Australian company Cimic, which is a subsidiary of Spanish construction group ACS.
Juan Santamaría, the chair of Cimic, said of the win: “Large-scale, campus-style residential and commercial projects are a hallmark of Leighton Asia’s work in India and in Asia.

Godrej has already developed a number of schemes in Kandivali East, such the Godrej Tranquil gated community and the four-tower Godrej Nest. Work on the latest scheme is due to complete towards the end of 2028.
