American football team the Los Angeles Rams have announced plans for a $10bn property development called “Rams Village” in the Woodland Hills district of the San Fernando Valley.
The 52-acre project will include the team’s headquarters and training facility as well as parkland, leisure, retail, residential and office space.
The developer is the team’s owner Stan Kroenke’s Kroenke Organisation.
“As we embark on our 10th season back in Los Angeles, we remain committed to helping shape the future of this great city,” Kroenke said in a press release.
It’s expected the project could take up to 10 years to finish.
The training facility would have two full-sized pitches, which are already in place. The proposal calls for an additional 150,000 sq ft of indoor practice space that would seat up to 2,500 spectators.
Two indoor arenas would be located next door, one with 5,000 seats, the other with 2500. Kroenke officials say the venues would bring more entertainment options to the San Fernando Valley.
LA mayor Karen Bass said the city was “extremely proud to have the Rams announce their new home in the valley”.
