Hyundai Construction Equipment and Leica Geosystems have developed a 3D machine guidance system for Hyundai’s next generation crawler excavators.

The Leica MC1 3D machine guidance system can be retrofitted to work with Hyundai’s existing 2D sensors and calibration systems, giving construction companies the opportunity to upgrade.

The system gives operators real-time design information and cut and fill indications for better accuracy and productivity.

Hyundai’s latest crawler machines have a new design, with full electro-hydraulic controls.

Hyundai product manager Peter Sebold said the collaboration would let the company speed up installation and delivery time for its machines.
