Plans are underway for the construction of almost 200 new hotels in Africa, with Lagos, Cairo and the Red Sea Coast identified as construction hotspots.
Traveldailynews.com reported that 191 luxury hotels with a total of almost 40,000 rooms would be built in the next few years.
The focus would be on major cities such as Lagos in Nigeria and Cairo in Egypt, according to TopHotelProjects.com, a hotel data provider.

Hurghada, on Egypt’s Red Sea coast was listed as the third hotel construction hotspot, with a flagship project called the Steigenberger Aqua Magic, due to open in November.
One of the largest upcoming hotel construction projects in Africa will be the Atalayoun Golf Resort in Nador, Morocco, which starts next June.
