China’s latest eye-catcher, an oval-shaped luxury hotel sitting on a lake near Shanghai, is expected to open this October.
The Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort, dubbed the ‘horseshoe’ hotel, is a 27-storey hotel with nearly 300 rooms, a separate ‘spa village’, hot springs and a yacht dock.

Designed by Ma Yansong, who came up with the rippling Absolute Towers in Canada, the hotel is a complete oval with two floors under water.
GCR has also reported on another impressive building about to be built in China: a five-star hotel in an abandoned quarry near Shanghai.
