Australian company FBR – formerly known as Fastbrick Robotics – has signed a contract to deliver structural building works for eight two-storey townhouses using its Hadrian X construction robot.
The homes will be in the Western Australian town of St James. FBR’s scope of work includes the construction of the ground storey, second-floor slab, footings, structural walls and roof trusses.
The job is FBR’s fist multi-home “wall as a service” contract, worth around US$360,000.
FBR says Hadrian X can work faster, safer, more accurately and with less wastage than a human bricklayer.
Mike Pivac, FBR’s chief executive, said: “We are pleased to be adding this large project to our pipeline of work, having spent the past 12 months introducing the Hadrian X into the real-world building environment to validate our game-changing technology with some prominent Western Australian builders.
“Now that we have demonstrated all the benefits the Hadrian X provides, we are now going to ramp up the use of our technology while continuing the development work at our R&D facility.”
