Fraudulent bidding gets Nigerian contractor banned from African bank work

A Nigerian contractor has been banned from projects funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) for three years after the bank found evidence of fraudulent bidding on an AfDB-funded agricultural transformation scheme

Yesterday the AfDB said Qualitrends Global Solutions Nigeria Limited misrepresented its experience in construction contracts and submitted a false bid security when it bid for work.

The bank’s Office of Integrity and Anti-Corruption investigated the company after its bid to build social infrastructure connected to the scheme in Niger State.

It means Qualitrends could be debarred by other multilateral development banks, including the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank Group.
