UK architect Foster + Partners has designed a headquarters for the PGA Tour in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
The PGA is the host of professional golf tournaments in America, such as the Ryder Cup.
The 17,000 sq m headquarters will be surrounded by a large freshwater lake, echoing the iconic “Island Green” 17th hole at the local Sawgrass course.
The project will bring the PGA under one roof – growth had forced it to occupy multiple buildings throughout Ponte Vedra Beach and St Augustine.
The new building will consolidate all area and embody a sense of openness and transparency, with flexible, open floorplates that focus primarily on collaboration and mobility at the workplace.
Nature plays a key role in the design, which incorporates principles of “biophilia” – an inherent affinity for nature – that is said to enhance staff wellbeing and improve the quality of the workplace.
