Ferrovial Agroman and its Polish subsidiary Budimex are to build the Raciborz Dolny flood-control dam in southwest Poland, worth €215m.
Located on Poland’s western Oder River, the 11m-high dam will comprise three earth dikes and will have a reservoir that will be filled during floods, to protect the areas along the river Oder between Raciborz and WrocÅ‚aw, which is home to 2.5 million residents.
The area behind the dam will have a capacity of 185 million cubic metres of water.
Budimex has previously been awarded contracts in southwest Poland in 2014 and 2015.
