A consortium led by France’s Egis with Systra and Morocco’s Novec will project manage the infrastructure for a 430km high-speed railway in Morocco between Kenitra and Marrakech.
Morocco wants it finished in time for the 2030 football World Cup, which it is co-hosting.
The contract, awarded by the national railway operator ONCF, sees the team also modernising Morocco’s conventional train network in Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakech.
The scope of work includes project management, operation master planning, technical optimisation and overall integration.
The consortium will provide ONCF oversight on multiple contracts.
The high-speed railway is due to be inaugurated at the end of 2029.
