Cimic Group subsidiary CPB Contractors has won a US$180m deal to deliver the second stage of a hospital refurbishment in Sydney, having already completed the first.
The work will be carried out on the Nepean Hospital in the west Sydney suburb of Kingswood for the government of New South Wales, which is investing $700m in the scheme.
Nepean is a 520-bed teaching hospital and regional trauma centre that is being modernised and fitted with upgraded stormwater systems. The first stage involved construction of a 14-storey tower.
Jason Spears, CPB Contractors’ managing director, said: “CPB Contractors successfully delivered the redevelopment of the Campbelltown Hospital and Nepean Hospital’s stage one and our teams will use this experience to minimise any disruption to the health campus. We will ensure that local training, employment and supplier opportunities are maximised.”
Main construction works on stage two are due to begin in 2023.
