Bouygues subsidiary Colas has won three contracts worth a total of €430m on Morocco’s high-speed railway between Kenitra and Marrakech.

Two Colas subsidiaries will carry out the work.

Grands Travaux Routiers (GTR) will handle the €180m civil engineering package, which includes earthworks and five bridges.

Colas Rail, in partnership with French consultant SETEC, won a €250m contract to design and build tracks, overhead lines, and substations on the high-speed line and also the regional network.

The scope includes 346km of single-track high-speed rail and 112km of single-track rail on the regional network, with completion scheduled for 2028.

Francis Grass, Colas’ vice president for North Africa, Europe and the Middle East, said: “This project demonstrates our commitment to the kingdom’s economic growth and our support for major initiatives like the 2030 World Cup.”

Colas Rail built the track and overhead line work for Morocco’s first high-speed rail line between Tangier and Kenitra from 2014 to 2018.
