Carillion lands £90m defence building in Cyprus

UK contractor Carillion has been awarded a £90m contract by the UK Defence Infrastructure Organisation to design and build a communications centre in Cyprus.

The company said it will be a single story building, approximately 10,000 square metres in area, with temperature and humidity controlled environments.

Construction will start in April 2017 and be completed by the end of January 2019.

Carillion chief executive Richard Howson said: "We are delighted to have been selected by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation to design and build this project and we look forward to building on the strong relationship we have with the DIO as we work closely together to deliver this important new facility."

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation is an agency of the UK’s Ministry of Defence.
