US equipment maker Bobcat has showcased its next generation of 1-2 ton mini excavators, with new smart features, extra power and fresh designs.

The E16, E17z, E19 and E20z have a new engine and load-sensing hydraulic system, with more responsive control and extra attachments.

The range contains the company’s most compact mini excavators yet, with a new cabin and less noise and vibration.

Robert Husar, Bobcat’s product line director for Africa, Europe and the Middle East, said: “The new 1-2 t mini excavator models build on the successes of the previous generation of machines with well over 34,000 units already retailed.

“After 3 years of development, the new models, featuring over 500 new components, will be available in the European, Middle Eastern and African markets later this year.

“A team of more than 50 engineers and designers have worked on the new designs, with over 80 customer visits to collect the scope, with ride and drive sessions with operators to validate prototypes, forming part of over 20,000 hours of testing and validation work.”
