US journal Engineering News-Record has listed American engineer Bechtel as the leader of its annual top 400 contractor list, for the third year running.
Companies are ranked by 2019 construction revenue, with the top five including Turner, Aecom, Whiting Turner Contracting and Kiewit.
Other big names in the top 20 are McDermott, Skanska, and Balfour Beatty US.
Notably absent from the 2020 list are US engineering giant Fluor, who placed second in the 2019 and 2018 competition, which Construction Dive reports is due to the company not report their earnings to Engineering News-Record, as they are undergoing an investigation from the Securities and Exchange Commission, and an internal audit.
