A consortium made up of Dutch contractor BAM, German construction firm Habau and Dutch service provider PGGM, has won a design, build, finance, maintain and operate road contract in Germany.Â
Work on the €650m project includes widening the circular A10 motorway to six lanes across a 30km distance and the reconstruction of northern Germany’s A24 as a four-lane motorway with a 29km hard shoulder.
The scope of the scheme also includes work on 39 bridges, the installation of noise protection walls, signals, interchanges, rest areas and secondary roads.
Habau and BAM’s German subsidiary Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau will carry out construction.
The project is due to start in March 2018 and be completed by December 2022.
Work on the operation and maintenance contract, which includes winter maintenance, will run until 2048.
