Balfour Beatty’s part owned South East Asian construction company, Gammon Construction, has won two rail contracts in Singapore worth $236m.
Gammon Construction will construct the Mayflower Station, one of 22 stops on The Thomson Line, a 30km underground mass rapid transit running through the north-south corridor of the country.
Once complete it will be the sixth MRT line in the city and will be run parallel to the existing North-South Line.

Work is due to start in the first quarter of 2014 and is scheduled to be completed by 2020 and fully operational in 2021.
The contract, worth $139m, was awarded by the Land Transport Authority, which operates the line.
SMRT Trains also awarded the firm a $97m contract for track system replacement on the North-South Line, involving the changing of sleepers from timber to concrete.
Work on this contract is due to start in the fourth quarter of 2013 and is expected to complete by the end of January 2015.
