Balfour Beatty has won a $385m contract to build the 17-storey Grand Hyatt Miami Beach hotel in Florida for developers Terra Group and Turnberry.
Located at the intersection of 17th Street and Convention Center Drive, it will anchor the Miami Beach Convention Center District.
The 996,00-sq-ft hotel will have 800 rooms, convention and meeting space and ground floor retail areas.
It’s scheduled for completion in late 2027. At peak construction, the project will employ more than 500 workers.
Balfour Beatty is also nearing completion of the $1.2bn Broward Convention Center & Hotel and expansion project.
Scott Skidelsky, Balfour Beatty President of Southeast Buildings Operations said: “We look forward to leveraging the experience of our South Florida team, who bring extensive expertise in the successful delivery of high-rise projects, hospitality and convention spaces.”
