Atkins retained for up to $60m in transport work in Georgia

Atkins, part of the SNC-Lavalin Group, has won a contract to provided engineering consulting and construction engineering and inspection services for the Georgia Department of Transportation’s Office of Alternative Delivery for up to five years under an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract not to exceed $60m.

The company will support design-build projects located in District 1, comprising 21 counties in the northeast of the state.

George Nash, CEO of Atkins North America, said his company would “leverage our experience and innovation to help improve mobility for motorists and freight which impact Georgia’s growing economy”.

The company now has 17 on-call contracts spanning almost every GDOT office, it said in a press release.

“Georgia’s transportation network is facing higher demands and service expectations,” said Brad Dennard, Atkins Department of Transportation Business Unit Director.
