French engineer Alstom has acquired Duray Ulasim Sistemleri, a manufacturing plant in Bursa, northern Turkey.

Some 200 staff work at the site, which makes components for rail systems that are exported to Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East.

Kerem Bugay, Alstom Turkey’s managing director, said: “Today, with our Advanced Industrial Centre in Bursa, we reaffirm our commitment to Turkey and our determination to contribute to the country’s modern rail system goals.”

In 2023, Alstom announced that it would build a factory in Morocco, the company’s second in that country.
