The Flow Consortium has won operation and maintenance contracts for lines 3, 4, 5 and 6 of Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Metro over 12 years.
The consortium of French engineer Alstom, Italian state rail firm Ferrovie dello Stato and Hitachi-owned Italian firm Ansaldo STS will be paid €2.5bn by the Arriyadh Development Authority
The lines will contain 113km of track, 50 stations, five interchanges and three depots.
The consortium will work on the metro’s operations, security, passenger assistance, facility management, building maintenance, and will also provide trains, signaling and telecoms systems.
The project will be partially opened in 2019, and it will be fully operational by 2021.
