Hong Kong architect Aedas has designed a “Skybridge” that will link all four towers of a mixed-use project on the Chinese island of Hengqin.
The bridge – which will actually take the form of a loop – is designed to evoke “integration, connection and communication”.
The towers are part of the 200,000 sq m Hengqin CRCC Plaza, which will offer office, retail and leisure space as well as outdoor terraces. The four towers include a private office tower and three leasable office buildings.

A podium containing retail space will be based along the main road, close to a central plaza and outdoor amphitheatre.
The project hopes to spur a “future central business district” in the area.

The plaza is due to be completed in 2022.
Earlier this year work began on an Aedas’ “Cloud City” in the western Chinese city of Chengdu.
