The Chengbei MixC will be an anchor development for Liangzhu New Town (10 Design)
Work has finished on an office tower and shopping mall designed by China-based architect 10 Design for state-owned developer China Resources Land in Hangzhou, a city of 10.4 million people close to Shanghai.

Called “Chengbei MixC”, the 6.2ha project is in Liangzhu New Town, a development in Hangzhou’s northern suburbs that is hoping to become a cultural tourist destination.

The office tower is 285m tall, making it the fourth tallest in the city. It has a sleek, modernist aesthetic and green terraces on its podium.

The mall has a floor area of 160,000 sq m.

Chin Yong Ng, the architect’s design principal, said: “The retail street is to provide an enhanced pedestrian experience between key functional space and amenities in the area. Retail will be blended with alfresco dining, interactive landscape features and art installations, it will invite footfall to the shopping mall and inject vitality into the area.”

Peby Pratama, the shared design principal, added: “As a pilot project of the district’s ambitious development plan, Chengbei MixC is to become a transformational force of the future CBD.

“Our design creates a live–work activity centre where round-the-clock programmes will be offered to serve the office workers, shoppers, and the residential communities nearby.”

The structural engineer for the project was WSP (Canada), Meinhardt (Singapore) was the M&E engineer and Woods Bagot (UK) was the interior designer.
